Neighbours at his former home in Pretoria confirmed he had moved out.

A local paper, quoting relatives, reported Friday that the 28-year-old returned to Zimbabwe on March 8 and stayed in Insuza, Matabeleland North with his in-laws.

He had been declared at Mbembesi Clinic on March 23, at which he died on April 3, until he was moved to St Luke's Hospital at Lupane. "He was constantly vomiting blood. It had been a painful death. I need someone could correctly explain to me what happened in South Africa," his grandmother, Emily Moyo, said.

South African police reportedly contacted their counterparts asking for help in tracking down Mlanje, who is thought to have been using a fictitious name in his former
workplace. According to the newspaper, Lukau and Mlanje are topic of an active criminal investigation a complaint believed to have been registered by Kings and Queens Funeral Services whose hearse was used in the complex resurrection con, by South African police.

"They specifically said we ought to try to locate a massive quantity of money, they thought Mlanje would have on himpresumably hush-money out of Lukau. From the time we found him, he was in a tomb," a police source said.
Mlanje's in-laws in particular said as investigators demanded to know where they hid the cash they had been victims of police beatings.

With Mlanje dead, the investigation to Lukau could go cold. The household supplied a picture that they said revealed Mlanje on a hospital bed days.

Speaking from Dandanda Village at Lupane, at which Mlanje grew up and was buried alongside his grandfather about April 5, his brother Stanley -- when showed a video of this supposed resurrection -- stated:"That is Thabiso, I could see him."

Enk Swanepoel, who worked in Vincent Amoretti Specialist Joiner at Pretoria, said he couldn't state with certainty that the man on the bed was Brighton Moyo, as he knew him.

"I'm afraid I can't confirm or deny whether this man is Brighton or not. The form of the head seems different although he certainly looks a lot like him. This could be due to the haircut. I only ever saw Brighton in the office, generally smiling and animated," Swanepoel told ZimLive.
